Hesham El-Meligy

    Hesham El-Meligy is chairman of the Staten Island Libertarian Party (Richmond County, N.Y.), and cofounder of Muslims for Liberty (Muslims4Liberty.org), the premier Muslim liberty organization in the U.S. and the world. Hesham was the 2013 Libertarian Party nominee for comptroller of New York City, and is the host of the television program, “Vantage Points with Hesham El-Meligy” (VantagePoints.tv).

    Born in Cairo, Egypt, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Hesham served as a communication specialist in the Egyptian Army’s CENTCOM. He is an interfaith and community leader, cofounder of the Building Bridges Interfaith Coalition, and received the Peace Maker Award from Peace Action in 2009. Hesham is a political, national security, and law enforcement analyst. Fluent in Arabic and having lived in and experienced the region for more than 25 years, Hesham El-Meligy is a Middle East and Muslim-world expert.
